favorite houses

These are two of my favorite houses. I love the way they decorate outside and I love the siding {board & batten and vertical groove cement board} and the color. Some day we will get new siding and I might be brave enough to paint it green. I want to get some closer pictures of the yard.

while Darby was sick and I just held her the whole time.

Bathroom Shelf

{i love this shelf}

This is one of my most favorite things in my house. It is actually an old crate that was given to me by one of my really good friends, Kim. I looked for a long time for a shelf just this size to go next to my tub, but I just couldn't find anything. I mentioned it to Kim and she said that she had one that she bought at DI and she gave it to me! Her and her family amaze me at the things they find when they shop. I love this shelf!

Plate & Pumpkins

I had a bright idea the other day
(it doesn't happen very often...ha,ha,ha)

I bought this candle stand and wood plate
from DI along time ago.

They have just been sitting around my house
collecting dust,
so I decided I could put them together
and make a cake plate.

It was a fun project and didn't take very long.

I glued the stand to the bottom of the plate.

painted it black,

stained it with wood stain,

and then spray painted a clear coat over the top.

It turned out really good,
and was one of my easier projects.

I also re-did my 3 pumpkins.
(I didn't take a picture
but they were all the same color
and kind of plain)

I unleashed the Dremel tool on them,

painted them black,

then I painted them 3 different colors,

sanded, stained, and put a clear coat over the top.

I had the raffia on them before,
so I just added some wire vines on top.

It was a wonderful FALL project.
And didn't cost me a thing!

Flip-Flops

I am so sad.

I had to trade in my favorite
pink flip-flops
for a new pair of black ones.
I think it will take time to break these in,
and some getting used to.

As you can see my feet are a little swollen from being pregnant.

one of my favorites

This wire basket has been on my wish list for a few years
and I finally decided to get it. I am looking forward to filling it with fruit
(hopefully from our trees) this summer.
But for now paper boxes will have to do.

Tin Cups

Look what I got in the mail yesterday.

I ordered the cups for a project I am working on right now and I loved the spoon so I got it too since I was ordering.

Although I forgot to get some rusty bells for ornies this next month. I guess those will have to go on my order list.
