My Mighty Hunter

Willy bought a Rifle Elk tag this year.

He was so excited to try the cow elk hunt.

At first he couldn't decide whether he wanted to
take the camper down to Anthro and camp
or just to drive down.

He finally decided to drive and
take the Jeep and four-wheeler.

This looks like a lot of elk for one person,
but only one is ours.


There were 7 guys who had tags.

4 out of 7 got their elk so far.

I am glad Willy got his,
so he can stick around for the rest of December.


The kids had fun helping Dad skin and take
care of the elk.

This is kind of gross,
so I hope it doesn't make anyone sick.


What mighty hunters!

Now that the fun is over the work begins.
We have to cut and package all that meat.

I love getting things in the mail,
even though these weren't for me
it was still fun to open them.

Now I get to wrap them back up
so they can be opened by the true recipients.

We are not quite done with our
Christmas shopping
but we are getting close.

Ornaments for Christmas

I like making a new ornament each year for our
Christmas tree.

This idea came from a few other ladies blogs
and it turned out really cute.

All I have left to do is put a hook on the tops
so they can hang in the tree.

I made one for us and the others
are gifts for family.

I hope everyone is having fun getting ready for
CHRISTMAS

Sadie has been soooooo excited for the snow,

so the other day when we got a little

they just had to go outside and play in it
(on the trampoline...of all places)

and I couldn't miss this photo opportunity
(I can't help myself...they are just so cute)

Baby Shoes

These cute little shoes are for Darby.

I can't see paying $5 for church shoes
that she only wears once a week,
and that won't last her very long anyway.

They look really cute,
but they don't stay on her very well.

I have made lots of adjustments
since I first made them.
(they used to be tie on's
but they wouldn't stay tied,
so I cut the ties off
and put on some elastics with ribbon)

Live and learn,
and then resew and resew and resew and resew...
ha, ha, ha...

Moms Late Birthday Present

I am getting slower and slower
at getting things done.

My Mother told me what she wanted just before
her birthday which was clear back in
the middle of October and I just finished
her birthday present.
(maybe some day I'll get it together)

I did have to wait for some more magnets to
come in the mail, so it wasn't all me.

It was a fun project to make.
I am glad it turned out so well.

So much to be thankful for...

Happy Thanksgiving

On Monday we made these Thanksgiving Turkeys
and wrote what we were thankful for.

All the kids made one and they did a great job
writing what they were thankful for:
family
friends
food
everything...

I love their little handprints.
I am sooooooo thankful for all my blessings,
especially my children and husband.

We went out to Willy's parents for Thanksgiving.
It was fun visiting, playing, and cooking.

Willy's favorite part is the napping.
While he was sleeping Grandma tied scarves to
his pants to make a skirt.
He cut one of his belt loops while trying to get them off.

Here is our builder, building away.
Wyatt is so creative and has a great imagination.

Clayton had fun with this box.
He used it for sneaking and spying.

Sadie, Melissa, and I played dress-up.
Grandma has lots of scarves that she said used
to belong to Great Grandma Rita Hansen.
The scarves were so fun and very pretty.
We had a good time.

We missed going after trees with my family on Friday,
but we decided to go for a drive up to Pigeon Water on
Saturday when we got home.

Willy was looking for big bucks and the kids were looking
for a good spot to go sledding.

We got to see 5 pretty big bucks but we didn't find a
very good spot to go sledding, so we tied the sleds behind
the Jeep so the kids could sled.

They had lots of fun.
Wyatt took a nose dive through the snow and
came out sort of smiling.
Clayton stayed on his sled and rode the waves.
I couldn't stop laughing,
even after Sadie told me that it wasn't nice.

What fun!

These aren't the bucks we saw but they are some
of the deer we saw up there.

Family Picture time. . .

We waited too late in the year for this.

I wanted to take our picture outside,
but it was cold,
so we had to take it in the house
and the lighting is horrible.
(these are our guinea pigs)

Next year we are taking it earlier.


I told them that if they didn't smile
I was going to take them to Walmart
and we would have to pay for them to smile.

They didn't do too bad,
ha, ha, ha.

Basketball Season has BEGUN

Caleb is a senior!

Can you believe it?!
I don't have any pictures of him yet
because he hasn't given me one.

I can't believe he is getting that old,
(that means I am way older and I can't believe that either!)

He loves basketball and this is his last year.

He asked me to put his last name on his waterbottle
using vynl.

It was way easy and turned out really good
so I had to take a picture, ha, ha, ha.

Bows

There is not to much that gets done around
here besides feeding, cleaning, and taking
lots of deep breaths.

But I have made a few bows for
Darby and Sadie.

Well mostly for Darby because
she doesn't have a choice yet,
and Sadie won't hardly wear
anything in her hair at all.

It is fun to try new things
and I am learning lots.

Tucks for December & January

I was sooooo very sad that
I missed Swap this month.

Our Ward Dinner was changed to
that night so I spent the night with
my family.

I miss getting out of the house
with other Ladies,
the laughter,
and good conversation.

December's theme is Christmas.
My tuck went to Lewaina.January's theme is winter.
My tuck went to Mom.

I am looking forward to the next Swap,
but that won't happen until January
because we skip December.

I am trying to come up with
some fun Valentines things.

Trick or Treat

hApPy hAllOwEen

We had a very fun halloween.
Jake & Rebecca were out to visit
for Lindsey's homecoming.
It was lots of fun to go tricker treating with them.

Wyatt was Dracula,
Clayton was a caterpillar,
Taylor was Mr Incredible,
Sadie was Witch Hazel and
James was GI Joe.
Darby was a little lion,
but she missed out on the tricker treating
because she was asleep at Grandma's and Grandpa's.

At 4 we headed out tricker treating
and the first place we went was
Great Grandma & Grandpa Birds.

They thought the kids were so cute,
and had to get more pictures.
Sadie made a cute Witch HazelWyatt wanted to bite everyone.We didn't get a picture of Clayton
because he took off too soon.


Carving pumpkins
is one of the kid's
favorite parts of Halloween.Dad and Mom cut the top off;
each of the kids have to gut their own pumpkin.They each draw the face they want for their pumpkin,with help we cut out the eyes, nose, mouth
and all the funny scars.It is such a fun family tradition.

I saw these cute wooden candy corns
at Laura's house when we went their for Swap.
I loved them and thought they were so cute,
so I decided to come home and make some.
I hope she doesn't mind.

I found some scrap 2x4's,
cut them out,
painted them (white, yellow,orange),
and then sanded them.

Then when I got them all finished
I saw a picture of candy corns. . .
I PAINTED THEM WRONG!
How frustrating is that?

So I had to paint them all over again
the right way (white, orange, yellow).
