Clean school boxes...finally!

I know I am really behind with everything. I have been meaning to clean out the kids' boxes the whole summer, but it didn't get done... and even when school started it still didn't get done. So finally the other day when I couldn't put any more papers in them... I decided that was the day to get them cleaned. It took half the day to go through everything that they got from school, but it is done! They look so nice and clean now, too bad it won't last. Maybe this time I can keep up a little better.

Chickens, Ducks and a Coop

The kids finally did it!... they finally talked us into getting chickens. So far it has been pretty fun taking care of our new little babies. They are growing really fast and getting their feathers. Sadly we have had 2 fatalities... Sadie stepped on one of Clayton's and Wyatt stepped on one of Sadie's. The chicks are just so little starting out... I have to keep reminding the kids that they are just babies and to be careful.

It took us about a week to get our coop built and it's a good thing we got it done, because those ducks are messy, playing in the water and their boxes {I had to change it a few times} were stinking really bad! Sadie named her duck Lollypop and the boys named theirs Flynn Rider, lol.

This has been quite the learning experience... it is fun just to sit and watch the little things play and eat, they are funny. I hope our kids really enjoy them.

This is one of my favorite sights. Nothing takes my breath away like watching my children having fun together and hearing their laughter.

{letters}

I finally found a letter for Darby's name... the problem is that it isn't the same size as the others... but it will have to work. It also didn't come with magnets on the back like the others so I had to drill holes and glue in magnets so it would stay on the fridge. I think it turned out as cute as the others. The kids love these they lose them all the time and I find them in odd places.

First Day of School

Summer went by so fast and now the boys are back in school. I am excited this year because I don't have to drive kindergarten... Clayton will go all day to first grade. He is really excited and is having lots of fun in school... his teacher is Mrs. Tew and he really likes her. I think Wyatt skipped a grade... thats what it feels like, he is already in third grade... I can't believe it!... Mrs. Christensen is his teacher and he really likes her to. I am excited for the things they get to do and learn, but I really miss them while they are gone. It just isn't the same. Some days it's hard letting go...

Sadie and I will start having preschool when we get home from Bridger. She could have gone this year, but I didn't think she was quite ready so we will send her next year.

Fun, with Becca... and the Boys!

 Becca and the boys came out to visit last week while Jake was in California on a business trip. It is so fun when they come to visit. We have lots of playtime. Taylor and James brought their fishing poles... so we all went up to Grandpa's pond to fish... the kids love it every time. Darby even fished and caught a big dry land sucker {Clayton}.

Daddy has a driving buddy

 Shantay wanted new pictures... she asked Rebecca to take her pictures... and I tagged along and took some to... it was our own personal photo shoot in Grandma & Grandpa Birds yard.  It was so fun hanging out with my sisters... they are both so wonderful. I can't believe Shantay is going to be a junior this year... crazy! I had so much fun taking pictures of Shantay with Rebecca... I wish I could be a photographer.

Taylor & James came to visit...

It was a lot of fun when Taylor and James came to visit for a few days. All the kids had so much fun playing together. Wednesday night we took all the kids fishing up at Grandpa's pond. Both Taylor and James had new fishing poles that they just couldn't wait to try out. Wyatt caught two fish at the same time on the fly pole. Taylor couldn't quite get his hook cast out so he decided to help take the fish off the hooks instead. Clayton was grounded so he couldn't fish but had fun taking the fish off the hooks too. James was so determined that he was going to catch a fish... he didn't want any help casting or reeling... he caught 2 fish {with a little help}... and also caught himself twice, once in the chin and once in the bum. Grandpa and Uncle Josh came up and fished with us too. Sadie spent most of the time in back of the truck playing around.

Thursday was kind of a long day... it took us all day to put our new swingset together. The kids had lots of fun swinging when I would get the swings on. But they did get tired of waiting so I let them put on their swimming suits and run through the sprinklers... and jump on the trampoline. Once Shantay and I got everything put together, the kids had fun playing on all the swings.

Friday came so fast and then it was time to take the boys out to meet their Dad. It was so fun having them come to visit... and we get to see them again next weekend for the family reunion.
