St Patricks Day

 We had a fun St. Patrick's day. I made these cute little tags for Willy and each of the kids. The night before St Patty's,  I hung them in their rooms and I hung Willy's in his work truck so that they would find them the next morning. It was fun being sneaky. I had to reminded the boys to wear green so that they wouldn't get pinched. They had a fun day at school. I forgot to remind Sadie to wear green when she woke up and when Wyatt came home from school he pinched her. She wasn't very happy. The kids each made a paper leprechaun and named them; Sadie's was Lucy, Clayton's was King O' Brian, and Wyatt's was King Phil. They were really cute. We read "Looking For Leprechauns", played hide and seek with the gold chocolate coins and we watched "Darby O Gill and the Little People", the kids loved it.

It is fun to celebrate life!

packages, packages, packages...

Look what came in the mail the other day!

 

I was sooooooo excited... I found these enamel plates online for my little stand and they are just the right size, so I ordered them and have been waiting for a couple weeks for them to get here. 

And now I have some vinyl of many colors. I ordered these off of Amazon, 27 sheets for $20, which I didn't think was too bad. I am going to have to come up with some cute ideas of things to make, but the nice thing is, now I have some so when I need some it's already here.

I love getting packages in the mail!

Darby surprised me...

Darby is growing very fast and learning so many new things. The other day I taught her how to clap and now she does it all the time. She has been scooting for a while, doing the army crawl, and now she has almost decided to crawl for real. Darby really keeps me chasing her around the house.

Today I was holding her and we walked past the movie cupboard. She started smiling and couldn't take her eyes off of a picture on top of the cupboard where we have small pictures of James and Taylor. So I walked back over to get closer and she got more and more excited as she looked at their pictures. I told her who it was, she smiled all over and cooed. It amazed me that she recognized them and was really excited. I love watching here grow and learn.

Clayton was praying...

Dinner time is usually hard because I can hardly ever make something that everyone likes and will eat. Tonight was one of those nights. I had fixed Chicken and Dumplings. Everyone had finished eating except for Clayton. I was still sitting at the table and I looked over at Clayton who had his arms folded and his eyes closed. We had already prayed before we started eating so I was wondering what was going through his head. After a couple seconds he looked up at me. I asked him if he was praying that his food would disappear, he said...

"no, I was praying that Heavenly Father would make my food so it wouldn't taste so I could eat it and like it."

I couldn't help but laugh. I love my children, even on these days.

Pillow Cover

I finally found a perfect project to use a piece of material that I got out of the leftover bin at Walmart. I was so excited when I measured the material and found that it was the perfect size to fit the pillow because I have been wanting to use it for a long time, but didn't know just what to use it for.

I made this pieced pillow cover when we lived at Grandma & Grandpa Birds house. It has lasted pretty good, other than I should have made it just a bit longer, but it is getting worn out and I was wanting something different.

It didn't take long to sew up the new pillow cover and find some ribbon to tie on the ends. I'm not sure I like the ribbon, but it looks good for now. I love when you can take something old and make it new again.

late Valentines project...

I know Valentines is over, but I just wanted to make this little can to hold my wax hearts in. I bought this for Willy, it had cinnamon hearts which he ate and since he wasn't using the can I decided it would make a good container for my little hearts. I am still learning and experimenting with the grubby look, but I think it turned out pretty good. I haven't put stain on it yet because I like how it turned out without it.

Jesse & Lindsey

Jesse & Lindsey have dated since they were in high school. They both went on missions and we were so very excited to hear that they got engaged on New Years. I was able to go Saturday and see their sealing at the Vernal Temple. I am very excited for them and their new life together, they make a cute couple, and Lindsey was a beautiful bride. Sadie and I were able to go over and help decorate Friday night at the church, it was lots of fun. Lewaina and Katie did an amazing job decorating for the reception and they asked me to help make this board using my new program that works on the Cricut. I was thrilled to be able to help and I am glad it turned out so good. At the reception Aunt Rae, Glenda, Mom, Caroline and I served the cookies and rootbeer floats in the kitchen. It was fun helping, but I felt bad for Willy having to take care of all our kids, so he went home early. I wish he would have stayed for the dancing so I could dance with him. I wanted to get more pictures of all the wonderful decorations, but I was too late, by the time I got ready with my camera half the decorations were already gone, darn. Oh well, I should have taken my camera when we went to help decorate, maybe I'll get it together someday....ha ha ha, or not.
