Wyatt's Trip to Minneapolis Minnesota

 Wyatt got to fly on an airplane to Minneapolis, Minnesota, with Grandpa Hansen to visit Grandma Hansen. It was his reward for completing his goal that he and Grandma Hansen set for him. He agreed to read his scriptures 10 min each night for 30 days straight... and he finished it as soon as he could.

Wyatt had so much fun. He called us each day and told us what he was doing and told us how much fun he was having. They shopped and rode rides at Mall of America and they also went to an aquarium. Wyatt said Grandpa was teaching him how to swim at the hotel swimming pool. He bought some fun toys that he brought home to show the other kids... and he also bought Clayton a birthday present.

I am really glad he got to go and have lots of fun. It was a little worrysome letting our 9 yr old go on such a big trip without us, but we knew that Grandma and Grandpa would take good care of him and that they would have fun... but we still worried.

We let Wyatt take the camera and he took some pretty good pictures. It is fun to see the world though a child's eyes.

9 Years Old... WOW

 I can't believe we have a 9yr old! That is just nuts. Why do our children have to grow up so fast? Wyatt is such a good young man and getting {sort of} more responsible each day. He is such a huge help... no matter what we are doing. I love my little boy so much... really not that little any more... in a couple of years he will be as big as me... that is a crazy thought. I hope we are giving him all the tools he will ever need to succeed in this life and the next.

Wyatt wasn't really sure what to ask for, for his birthday. So I told him not to ask for anything and just be surprised... so he did. He had lots of fun having everyone who came... and he really liked his presents. The cake was experimental... {I think we watch too many cooking shows... then the kids want to try making all kids of crazy things... but won't eat them}... Wyatt wanted a vanilla cake with orange frosting. So we made a vanilla lava cake with orange frosting {cream cheese frosting with food coloring added} and a little bit of orange extract. I guess it tasted good because it all got eaten. It was a fun night. Wyatt really had fun.

This is one of my favorite sights. Nothing takes my breath away like watching my children having fun together and hearing their laughter.

Soccer {2011}

The boys have had lots of fun playing soccer this year. They get lots of exercise. Clayton has the most fun... if he isn't out on the field running after the ball then he is sitting in the goal with the girls talking and not even paying attention to what is going on. Wyatt is very competitive and tries really hard to score goals. They have such different personalities but they are having fun playing on the same team. We really like watching and cheering.

Wyatt's Baptism {2011}

 I am so very proud of Wyatt for wanting to be baptized. It was a very special day. The baptism was at 4pm so that morning Willy took Wyatt to Cub Scout Day Camp in Roosevelt. They had lots of fun. While they were at camp the girls and I took Clayton to his soccer game. When Willy and Wyatt got home we all got ready and headed over to the church to be ready for the baptism. When we got there we thought that maybe we weren't going to have the baptism because the church was locked and when we finally got in, the closet was locked to the clothing and there wasn't anyone there who could open it. But finally someone arrived and everything went pretty smooth. Willy did a great job baptizing and confirming Wyatt {it was his first time for both}. He had to baptize Wyatt twice because he forgot to say amen the first time. There were two girls Wyatt's age that were  also baptized. After we were done at the church we all went back to Grandma & Grandpa's pavilion for pot luck. It was such a nice day and perfect weather. Then we went up to the park with Grandma & Grandpa Hansen, the cousins and Aunts & Uncles for some playtime and unicycle riding. It was a good day.

May 2011 Cub Scout Packmeeting

 {Box Car Race}

We went to our first Packmeeting with Wyatt, Tuesday night. He has been so excited. When I first mentioned scouts... he didn't want anything to do with it... he thought it would infringe on his playtime... but as it got closer he got more and more excited about it and now he absolutely loves it!!! For days that is all he could talk about. 

Last Wednesday after school Wyatt and the other boys went to the church for scouts. They played games, had tons of fun, and brought home this box that we were supposed to have decorated by Tuesday night for Packmeetings Box Car Race. Wyatt kept after me every day all weekend long until we finished his car. He spray painted it black all by himself, we found flames on the computer that we printed out and used as a stencil, same for the wheels. Wyatt liked the way it turned out.

The race was awsome!!! Jackie L. is the Cub Scout Master and I have to say she is soooo creative. Wyatt got to race first against Tanner Layton. It was such a good race and they had so much fun. The drivers family had to be the {pit crew} and they had to stop in the pit 3 times. 

For the first stop we had to wash their windshield {which was their goggles}... we sprayed them with a squirt bottle and wiped them dry... 

the second stop they had to fuel up {get a drink of lemonade}... but they couldn't take their hands off of their car the whole race so we had to hold the cup while they drank... 

and for the third stop they had to get their tires changed {we, the pit crew, had to remove their shoes and socks, turn their socks inside out put them back on and put their shoes back on}... it was lots of fun, even for the family.

Wyatt and Tanner both had wrecks during their race. Wyatt wrecked right at the first corner and Tanner wrecked right at the home stretch. They both did so good and had lots of fun. I am so proud of Wyatt and excited for him to be involved in Scouts. He is a busy body and it gives him something to do.

i can't wait until i'm {8}

 Wyatt has been so excited for his birthday and he is also very excited to turn eight so he can get baptized. I love him so much... he is a huge help... and he is sooo busy wanting to build all kinds of things. For his birthday we bought him a new bike... he really wanted a bow, but I couldn't find one his size. He has grown a lot and is to big for his old bike. Wyatt was really excited to get his new bike... he had to go out and try it right away... he rides it every day when he comes home from school... I am glad... I thought he might be upset that he didn't get a bow, but he wasn't... he had fun.

Wyatt had a great birthday and got some fun presents. He got two parties... one during the week and then a combine party on the weekend. He is still looking forward to his baptism in a few weeks.
