Happy {Halloween}

Happy Halloween everyone! As you can see we had a fun Halloween. The kids dressed in their costumes and we went up to the park for the annual Trunker Treat. They always get way too much candy. Clayton is a vampire, Sadie and Darby are witches, and Wyatt is a skeleton. Grandma's costume was great... she was so scary... and Shantay wore the wolf costume. I love Halloween it is such a fun kids holiday. But I think my boys favorite part was lighting fireworks in their pumpkins and blowing up their pumpkins with firecrackers. We had a great time.

HalloWeen ParTy

I gave in when the kids suggested that we have a halloween party... we had so much fun. We decided to do it for Family Home Evening night. We started out with a ghoulish dinner and then played some fun games... a ghost hunt {everyone had to find as many ghosts as they could that were hiding around the house} Daddy won with seventeen... a ghostly relay {where they had to move a ghost form one end of the room to the other without using their hands before the other team} Sadie and Daddy won... a candy corn toss {whoever got the most in the bucket} Wyatt won with six... and a blood sucking contest {whoever sucked the water our of their balloon first} Clayton won... this wasn't the best game to play, Willy and I's balloons broke and choked us with the water but the kids did alright, probably because they don't suck as hard. It was a fun night with our spooky family;} I am excited for next year and already looking for new games to play...

We made these scary jars and set them all around the house... they made it more fun and spooky.

{Halloween} Pillowcases

I know I am obsessed right now with pillowcases.

I can't help it.

They are so easy to make and they make the holidays and seasons that much more fun.

Besides my living room can really use the {pick me up}!

These turned out so cute for Halloween and I have lots more to make for the upcoming holidays and seasons... maybe I will even piece some, lol.

Octooooooooober {fun}

The kids and I have started getting excited for Halloween.

We have talked about what they want to be for Halloween night...

bought our pumpkins...

and have started {spookin} up the house.

They always love the witches, pumpkins, ghosts, cob webs and spiders that come along with Halloween.

We even pulled out our Halloween movies the other day and watched a couple... Witch Hazel is my favorite. 

Sadie and I had fun painting our fingernails... shiny orange with brown polka dots... they turned out so cute... it was fun. I wanted to paint Darby's but she doesn't hold still for even one second and I think she would probably suck the paint off before it dried, lol.

Trick or Treat

We had a very fun halloween.
Jake & Rebecca were out to visit
for Lindsey's homecoming.
It was lots of fun to go tricker treating with them.

Wyatt was Dracula,
Clayton was a caterpillar,
Taylor was Mr Incredible,
Sadie was Witch Hazel and
James was GI Joe.
Darby was a little lion,
but she missed out on the tricker treating
because she was asleep at Grandma's and Grandpa's.

At 4 we headed out tricker treating
and the first place we went was
Great Grandma & Grandpa Birds.

They thought the kids were so cute,
and had to get more pictures.
Sadie made a cute Witch HazelWyatt wanted to bite everyone.We didn't get a picture of Clayton
because he took off too soon.


Carving pumpkins
is one of the kid's
favorite parts of Halloween.Dad and Mom cut the top off;
each of the kids have to gut their own pumpkin.They each draw the face they want for their pumpkin,with help we cut out the eyes, nose, mouth
and all the funny scars.It is such a fun family tradition.

I saw these cute wooden candy corns
at Laura's house when we went their for Swap.
I loved them and thought they were so cute,
so I decided to come home and make some.
I hope she doesn't mind.

I found some scrap 2x4's,
cut them out,
painted them (white, yellow,orange),
and then sanded them.

Then when I got them all finished
I saw a picture of candy corns. . .
I PAINTED THEM WRONG!
How frustrating is that?

So I had to paint them all over again
the right way (white, orange, yellow).

Happy Halloween

I can't believe Halloween came and went! What a crazy month, but we enjoyed it.

Wyatt was invited to a Halloween party on Friday and had lots of fun. They played a lot of games and got to make these cute pumpkins.

Clayton's is on the left, Wyatt's is in the middle, and Sadie's is on the right. This is a great idea for little kids who can't carve their own pumpkin.

It was a great party. The only glitch was that he wouldn't stay without Clayton, Sadie and I; what a stinker, but we all had fun. Wyatt chose to dress up as Frankenstein for the party.

I have never seen such a cute Frankenstein.

We went to our wards Trunker Treat, Saturday night. Sadie was a witch, Clayton was a caterpillar, and Wyatt was a wolf. They love these costumes because they didn't have to paint their faces, and they are warm. It was lots of fun and the kids got too much candy as usual.

We are now looking forward to Thanksgiving. Hopefully it doesn't pass quite as quickly.
