Bluebell Corn Maze

We decided to go to the Corn Maze on Saturday and have fun with the kids... but Willy didn't want to go, so I took the kids and Grandma Bird was a good sport and went with us. The weather was wonderful. There is so much to do there. They have the pumpkin canons, the cow train, the maze, the boo barn, a small hay maze for the kids to play in and so much more. The kids wanted to stay all day and night, but it got chilly as the sun went down. The maze was lots more interesting this year with clues for which way you should go depending on the answer. We had fun.

its {fiRewOod} season

We have spent the last month of weekends getting our years supply of firewood for the winter. It is hard work... but very worth it. We save a lot of money, plus it we have family time, plus it teaches our children to work. They were huge helpers... we didn't have anyone else with us this year so it all came down to us... and it was fun {despite all the complaining, from an unnamed person}. I love my family and all the times we get to spend together... whether it is working or playing.

Dry Gulch Fishing

Our family just can't resist a trip to a lake, river or stream where there is fish to be caught. They love to fish. This trip was very bouncy and bumpy... but very, very beautiful when we finally made it up there. The fishing wasn't as successful as they hoped... but it was still fun. And I love taking pictures of my family... even when they are fishing.

the 2012 Boating Season has begun...

 Willy loves boating!!! We have been out a couple times this year and boy are Willy and the kids having fun. I enjoy it until Darby gets tired of her life jacket and screams the rest of the ride until we decided to go home so she can take it off. Willy tried talking me into going on the tube... but it just isn't that warm yet. These die-hard fishermen are loving the trolling motor... but the fishing isn't very dependable.... they have caught a couple pretty good ones... which I mutilated when I tried de-boning and filleting {there wasn't much fish left to eat, lol}... next time Willy can fillet them and I will just be the cook. Happy fishing...

Our Family Band

There are moments when everything is... PERFECT!...The other night was one of those moments. We were driving home... all six of us piled in the truck... listening to the radio and singing along. Wyatt was playing the electric guitar, Clayton was playing the drums and the rest of us were singing along to the songs. It was so much fun and for that one moment everything was just perfect.... no fighting... or arguing... just fun! I hope that's what heaven is like.

Circus Fun

We had so much fun at the Circus last year we decided to take our kids again this year, and we had a few extras (Gabe, Taylor, and Creed). The performances were great. My favorite is the elephants and other animals. The kids favorite is still the motorcycles in the huge ball. It was lots of fun, but not quite as fun as last year... they didn't seem to have as many animals this year and it wasn't geared around kids like last year. But all in all it was fun.

{boating}

 One of our family's favorite things to do is going boating {fishing, wake boarding, knee boarding}. Well I guess I should say Willy's favorite thing to do, I like it but not as much as he does. We finally ordered parts and fixed our boat that has been sitting in the yard all summer and then took it out on the lake {just in time for fall, lol}. The older kids loved it and Darby like it okay which was good, I thought she was going to scream the whole time because of her uncomfortable life jacket that squishes her cute cheeks... but she didn't, she was a little unhappy but did okay. She liked watching the water. The boat didn't break down and we all had a good time... it was great... to bad summer is over. And now we have two boats, because Willy traded Great Grandpa Bird his boat for one of our four-wheelers. Too much fun, ha ha ha... Everyone is looking forward to next year... especially the kids.

Two Birthday Parties...

I am so slow getting this posted, but we have just been going... going... going... and we still have two more weekends to go before we are through.


A couple weeks ago we went down to Sandwash Lake to a birthday party for our nephews, Gabe & Taylor, they turned 9years old. We all went swimming... the kids spent most their time in the water... there was good food and {worm filled} cake and ice cream {everything was yummy} It was lots of fun and the kids keep asking when we are going to go swimming again. Landan had also taken his waverunner and let everyone have rides... Wyatt even got to drive {that was the first thing he asked... what a boy!} I was bummed because I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pictures... sigh



Caleb's birthday is the day after our nephews and this year his girlfriend, Bailey, planned a surprise party for him down in central southern Utah. At first we were going to miss his birthday because we had planned to go camping, but then camping didn't work out, so we decided to go down at the last minute. It was a long drive... but we had a fun roadtrip... and once we got down there everyone had fun. Baileys family had friends that owned a cabin at Otter Creek, so we were all able to stay there and have lots of fun. They brought and prepared all the food... it was so nice... we played games and the youngers watched a movie. Her family also took us on a little hike up to a huge swing that the owners had made... IT WAS HUGE... and a little scary at first. Everyone who hiked up there took a turn on the swing, including my Mom & Dad, and Bailey's Dad and Uncle. The kids all took their turns over and over again, especially Wyatt {he wanted to swing the whole time} and when Uncle Caleb stood up on the swing Wyatt had to try the same thing... he is too brave. On the hike back to the cabin the kids caught some lizards... Sadie talked us in to letting her bring hers home, but then she had to let it go. It was a fun trip and nice to meet Bailey's family... they were so amazing to do all that for Caleb and for us.
