Picture Frames

For Christmas this year I decided to make frames for a couple of our family members. They turned out better than I thought they where going to. I wish I would have taken pictures of all of them so that I can remember what they look like for when I make more later. I might have to go visit Grandma & Grandpa, Becca and Katie and take some more pictures.

Merry CHRISTmas

Christmas morning is fun when you are a kid. Wyatt was the first one awake at about 5 o'clock. He came in to wake us up but we told him to go back to bed for a while. I think he only went back to bed for 5 minutes and was back in our bedroom trying to wake us up. We didn't get up so he woke up Clayton and then Darby woke up. We told them they could play with the stuff in their stockings until we got up. Sadie finally woke up about 7 o'clock so then we decided it was time to get up.

Before we open presents we talk about Jesus and his birth, again for the hundredth time, so they will remember why we celebrate Christmas and its importance, but I think that it is still lost in all the wrapping paper. I hope they get it.

The kids all got fun toys and we had a great time as family.

This year Christmas was on Sunday and we had the early time (8:30). Then as every year before we all gathered at Grandma & Grandpa Birds for Breakfast (brunch for this year). We ate our traditional waffles and Keesh. It is enjoyable to visit and just enjoy the day.

 After breakfast we watched Grandpa & Grandma open their presents. It was sooo cute when Grandma opened her present from Grandpa ... he made a picture of a rainbow and a question that said "what do you find at the end of a rainbow?"... it was a small bucket full of real gold dollars. She was so surprised. They are so sweet. I love to watch the care they take with each other.

 It is fun to joke around a little. A few years ago we had Shantays name... Willy is very practical and she said that he would probably just buy her some underwear, so as a joke that is what we got her to go along with her other present. This year Shantay had our family and it was funny when Willy opened his present and there was a pair of Superman underwear... it was hilarious... we all had a good laugh. I also got underwear... mine were cute leopard underwear... the kids weren't as lucky, they got a game and a movie, lol. 

 Santa brought the boys rockets. So later that day they were outside shooting off their rockets to see how high they could get them to go. I took some pretty good pictures of them jumping... with my new camera.

I love my family. We are so very blessed. We have so much to be thankful for and I am extremely grateful for our family and all that Christ has done for me. We wish you a Merry Christmas all year long.

Christmas {Eve}

Mom had a little surprise party for Dad.

The kids were not very happy with the books they got it there bags.

It was a fun night, but I don't really like being in charge.

I can never get Willy to stand still.

The little boys had fun playing with Grandpa's birthday present.

Mom, Trina, and I had lots of fun decorating the tables. It made it fun and festive.

Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa Hansen

Grandma & Grandpa came out a few days before Christmas to spend some time with us while Grandma was home. She has a new job as a flight attendant so she is gone a lot and home only at certain times. It was fun having them come to visit. The kids got to open some presents early and had lots of fun building and playing with them. It was a great night.

Ward Christmas Party

The Primary was in charge of the Christmas party this year and they did a great job. I love when they do the nativity story... it really helps us to think of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas. Wyatt and Sadie sang while Clayton was one of the Wisemen and Darby watched noisily with us. Santa also came to visit... the kids were really excited to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas, except for Darby who just cried. Wyatt asked for an Xbox 360 and an ipod, Sadie asked for a Miss Kitty, and Clayton didn't ask for anything, he told Santa he could bring whatever he wanted to (I think that they might be getting what Christmas is about;). We all had a fun time and a good night. I tried to talk Willy into sitting on Santa's lap so I could take his picture, but he wouldn't go for that.
