{garden hooks}

I saw these cute hooks at one of my cousins wedding receptions... and they were so cute! So I have been looking around for some. I bought one at Lowes that is 4 ft tall and then I found some online that were 3 ft tall and only $7 each... so I bought 3. They are a welcome addition to my sad looking flowerbeds. I am going to make some cute things to hang on them... or I might just hang jars with candles in them. Who knows?.... the possibilities are endless....

thinking green...thinking green...thinking green...

I am so excited for spring... I can't wait to have a green yard. I planted beans, vines, pumpkins, and some herbs early... but I didn't have a place for them so I built these shelves in my window... now my window is very full and green...{I LOVE IT}! I can't wait to plant them outside... I hope they grow when they get outside.

Herb Garden {barn wood sign}

 Spring is here and everything is turning green... I love it!!!! I finally made my first barn wood sign that I have been planning to make for a couple years now. I really like how it turned out and it was pretty easy. I hung it on the fence with some wire... so I could see it when {all} of my herbs cover the ground and reach 2 ft tall, lol.

I am really enjoying spring... I love watching everything grow.

i {love} having a garden

 

I want to make if very clear that I am not a very good gardener {there are more weeds in our garden than there are plants}  but I really love that we can walk outside, pick fresh fruits & vegetables and eat them, they taste sooooo good. Clayton is our little picker... he keeps the kitchen supplied. Our fruit trees had fruit on them this year... I was so excited and it tasted soooo yummy. There isn't enough to save yet, but someday I hope to be able to bottle and dry some. 

I have the same goal each year... to grow a better garden than the year before... this year I did that because we didn't have a garden last year, but I really hope to do better next year... 

There is nothing like picking and eating fresh produce from your own back yard!

I LOVE SPRING!

My favorite color is green, and March is all about green, but it also gives me spring fever because I want everything outside to be green and it won't be for a few more months. How depressing! Well on with life.

I am really looking forward to spring!

I won't be feeling like doing much around the yard, but I have a small list of things I would like to do:

plant some honeysuckles around our back porch

plant some grapevines along our west fence

put fertilizer stakes by all the trees

and

put compost around all the plants we have, so hopefully they will grow this year.

Summer Projects

These are some summer projects that I have FINISHED.

This is a large drawer from a closet that my Aunt was getting rid of along with some other wood. After I got it all home, I decided to make panter boxes out of them before they got ruined by the weather. I tore out the bottom, filled them with peatmoss and dirt, and then planted some flowers. I have one for each of my children and they are theirs to take care of (including weed).

I found this headboard in the top of the barn and decided to make a bench out of it. It is the perfect size for the kids. I also have two matching ones that I plan to do the same thing.
