{ONE} year old

 I can't believe that our baby is already one year old. That is exciting but sad at the same time. We had a little party... I think she knew it was for her... she was so happy and smiley. She liked the birthday song... but when it came to blowing out the candle, she just wanted to grab the cake and eat it. Darby loves to rip up paper... but she wouldn't open her presents, lol... she had lots of help from her brothers and sister. She got some really cute clothes and fun little toys. The cake was good and she really liked it... it was everywhere...

Willy & the Girls

Willy has been trading four-wheelers for four-wheelers... and having fun doing it, lol. We went for a ride the other night. Willy, the girls and I on one four-wheeler... Wyatt and Clayton following us on the other four-wheeler. We drove up around Grandpa's pond... and through it... everyone had a great time.

2 New {Cousins}

 Our kids have been so excited to have new baby cousins... we have been to see both of them... and they all had to hold them and love on them...

Madelynn Zoe Hansen was born on May 30 {Memorial Day}... 7 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches long... she is so pretty and looks like her Mom. We went out to visit and forgot to take more pictures but we will get some soon.

Keaton Russell Dettinger was born on June 19... 7 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long... he looks so much like both his brothers... and so cute. We had fun going down to visit and holding the cute baby.

We went to play at the Park while the Dettingers all did some moving.

I had them rolling down the hill, laughing...

Becca and I tried taking pictures of Keaton... but he woke up and wanted to eat... but we did get some cute pictures.

yard... aNd... house {wOrk}

 The grass never grows where I want it to... but it grows all over where I don't want it... this bench, ladder, and vine were getting overgrown... so the kids and I took the truck down to Lue's... where Willy and Caleb have been working... and gathered up two loads of cobble rock... then laid them out around so they would keep the grass down... I hope it works...

 Our old porch was starting to fall apart and it was small and nasty with that outside carpet stuff on it... the cat hair would get stuck to it... it was really gross... so we poured a new cement porch... and I LOVE it!!!... it is wider and we have a sidewalk... now we just have to finish our awning and metal roofing...

I hear this phrase all day long... and this is where I found Darby when I walked into the girls room the other day... I am pretty sure she didn't climb in there herself... she was having a good time playing... and so were Clayton and Sadie...

I loved the heart that Lewaina had at Lindsey's reception... so I decided to make one (I hope she doesn't mind)... or a few... they were fun to make and they turned out really cute...

 

This one was my favorite... so I hung it in the kitchen so I could see it all the time...

I finally bought some pillows for the living room so we didn't have to use the ones off our beds anymore... and of course I had to make some pillow cases for them... {front}...

I love old wood crates!!!... some day when we go back East I am going to bring home a truckload... but for now I have to just make my own... I made this one to go by our new front porch... it turned out better than I thought it would... I'm not sure what to put in it though... I will have to just keep changing things around...

James I Bird Family Reunion

I really look forward to our Family Reunions. The James I Bird is held every summer at the Moon Lake campground. It used to be in camp A... but it has gotten so big that they have had to move it to camp B for the last 10 years or so... and it is still growing. It is lots of fun to go camp up there... and we get to see cousins that we only see once a year up there. I hope they keep coming... or we won't get to see them at all. The weather was supposed to be bad all weekend... but except for the first night and Sunday when we came home... it was really nice. Our kids got very dirty... and no matter how many times we washed them... 5 minutes later they would be covered in black dirt again... but they had soooo much fun. The boys spent most of the time on their bikes... but I did talk them into playing catch... Wyatt, Willy and I even played 500. I was sad that I hadn't walked down to the beach this year... the kids got to go down with the older kids. My least favorite part is putting everything away when we got home... I am still doing laundry...

We played lots of cards... you can't go to a Bird 
reunion and not play cards.

Here are our three mighty hunters... they brought 
their blowguns and made targets out of anything 
they could find. They were even chasing the ground 
squirrels and had a stakeout by the outhouse for a 
while to see if the squirrels would poke their heads out.

more cards... we had a good laugh with this game... its 
called Spazz and for good reason... we all look like 
spazzes when we played this game.

Darby couldn't keep her cute face off of anything...

This year the lake is filling up fast because there is 
still snow in the mountains and we will probably 
get some flooding.

The fishermen didn't have any luck this 
time... maybe next time.

This is one of my favorite things about camping...
I love to sit around the campfire and listen to stories 
of the past and present... not to mention the 
smores and hot chocolate...

Sadie had fun searching for money in the sawdust 
with her cousins... and she found quite a bit.

The boys were a little more competitive and each 
came away with handfuls... which they used for 
the cakewalk... so I didn't have to give them any 
money.

They love anything that includes water... Sadie 
smothered Clayton with a balloon right off the bat... 
Grandpa and Nancy were the last for their balloon 
to break... and it happened right on Grandpa... 
what bad luck.

We love our new camper... it has been sooooo nice and roomy...

This was the only place Darby could get down 
and enjoy herself without getting filthy dirty.

We had so much fun as a family...

getting ready for... TREK

Every 4 years our stake YW/YM have the opportunity to go up to Wyoming and trek to Martins Cove, where the pioneers trekked... and this was their year. Shantay come over and asked if I would help get a couple things ready. We took her skirt in... because it was too big around... and put her name on her water bottle with vinyl. It worked really good... I love my cricut and surecutsalot!

Soccer {2011}

The boys have had lots of fun playing soccer this year. They get lots of exercise. Clayton has the most fun... if he isn't out on the field running after the ball then he is sitting in the goal with the girls talking and not even paying attention to what is going on. Wyatt is very competitive and tries really hard to score goals. They have such different personalities but they are having fun playing on the same team. We really like watching and cheering.
